Here are the biggest planning stories from the past week.
Plans for new apartments on former pub site rejected
Plans for 14 brand-new flats on a former pub site in Stoke-on-Trent were rejected by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
P&D Properties applied for permission in March to build four one-bed apartments and 10 two-bed apartments on a derelict pub site in Bentilee.
This week, Stoke-on-Trent City Council recommended the plans for refusal.
Plans for new community pavilion at popular park
Plans have been submitted to Stoke-on-Trent City Council for a brand-new community pavilion at a popular park in the city.
The council wants to demolish the existing pavilion at Middleport Park, Navigation Street, Middleport, and build a replacement one.
The existing building is currently vacant due to its poor condition.
Vacant Longton site to be reveloped into new retirement apartments
A site in Longton which has been vacant for nearly 20 years is set to be redeveloped into new apartments for over 55s.
Ovi Homes Ltd are about to begin transforming the 30 hectares site into brand-new apartments.
Some of the existing buildings will be retained and others will be demolished to create 62 apartments with associated parking and landscaping.
