Vacant Longton site set to be reveloped into brand-new retirement apartments

A site in Longton which has been vacant for nearly 20 years is set to be redeveloped into new apartments for over 55s. 

Crownworks, The Strand, Longton, was previously used as a pottery manufacturer site, operated by the Tams Group, until 2006. 

Now, Ovi Homes Ltd are about to begin transforming the 30 hectares site into brand-new apartments. 

Some of the existing buildings will be retained and others will be demolished to create 62 apartments with associated parking and landscaping. 

Part of the building will be redeveloped and other parts will be demolished as part of the work (Nub News).

46 of these apartments will be sold and the remaining 16 will be available to rent. 

The developer will also create 31 parking spaces for local residents.
