A local pub is hoping to bring community and live entertainment to a Stoke-on-Trent town after reopening as an Irish bar.

The Six Towns Irish House, on Kingsway in Stoke, officially opened today (11 September) following a full makeover.

The pub – which was previously called The Kings Way – will be offering live entertainment and sports as well as Irish themed cocktails and Guinness.

General Manager, Jamie Newbold, said: "This is bringing something new to the market for Stoke. There's nothing else like it around here."

The pub is operated by The Banx Pub Group, based in Tamworth, which has 27 sites across the West Midlands.

Six Towns will be the group's first Irish bar. The group said that they think that opening Irish themed pubs is "a trend that's rising".

The reopened pub will be a live entertainment venue as well as featuring a function room, darts and a pool table.

A spokesperson for the group added, they hope the pub will provide "community and entertainment with a bit of an Irish blend".
