Plans for 14 brand-new flats on a former pub site in Stoke-on-Trent have been rejected by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

P&D Properties applied for permission in March to build four one-bed apartments and 10 two-bed apartments on a derelict pub site in Bentilee.

The Winchester pub was knocked down in 2010 and the Winchester Avenue site has been derelict ever since.

Yesterday (6 June), Stoke-on-Trent City Council recommended the plans for refusal.

The site is on the junction between Winchester Avenue and Beverley Drive (Nub News).

The officers report stated: "The application raises significant detrimental concerns for visual amenity, residential amenity, ecology and waste provision such that it does not accord with policy.

"The application is therefore recommended for refusal."
