New car wash and sales facility coming to Normacot

A brand-new car wash and sales facility is set to be built on a busy road in Normacot, Stoke-on-Trent. 

Stoke-on-Trent City Council granted permission on 9 June for vacant land on Uttoxeter Road to be transformed into a car sales facility with a car wash. 

The new business will be open 8am-9pm every day, including bank holidays.

The final roof tiles have been laid on a brand-new retirement complex in Chell Heath (Google).

The final roof tiles have been laid on a multi-million pound retirement complex in Stoke-on-Trent. 

113 one-and-two bedroom apartments are being built on the former Heathfield Special School site off Chell Heath Road. 

The facility, which will have electric vehicle (EV) charging points for residents and visitors, is expected to be complete by summer 2024.

Plans to demolish derelict Longton newsagents rejected by council

Stoke-on-Trent City Council rejected plans to demolish a former newsagents in Longton (Nub News).

The three-storey building, on Caroline Street, is in a poor state, the roof has collapsed and windows have been boarded up.

The officers report, published on 7 June, says more information would be needed regarding the methods of demolition before permission can be granted. 

Plans to demolish and redevelop Fenton church and community buildings 

Plans have been put forward to demolish and redevelop a church and associated community buildings in Fenton. 

The applicant, Mr Eddison Attu, wants to demolish Triumphant Christ Chapel, on City Road, and turn it into a new church with independent living facilities with children in social care. 

24 one-bedroom flats would be created for children in social care and 16 staff would be employed on site.
