Plans have been put forward to demolish and redevelop a church and associated community buildings in Fenton.

The applicant, Mr Eddison Attu, wants to demolish Triumphant Christ Chapel, on City Road, and turn it into a new church with independent living facilities with children in social care.

If plans are approved, there would also be conference facilities, a cafe and communal spaces for the local community to use.

The 2490 sq metre site is currently being used as a church, nursery and space for community events.

The building, on City Road, would be demolished to allow these plans to take shape (Nub News).

24 one-bedroom flats would be created for children in social care and 16 staff would be employed on site.

A decision has not yet been made regarding these plans.
