It's the 850th anniversary of Newcastle receiving its charter!

To celebrate this historic event, we're thrilled to be working with Friends of the Guildhall for a truly special market with a medieval theme and plenty of amazing activities and performances for all ages.

Here's what we've got in store at our special celebration market on Sunday 16th July:

• 65+ amazing artisan traders
• Procession featuring local legend 'Nello' as king
• Live performances from medieval minstrels and acapella group the Loud Mouth Women
• Delicious street food
• Storytelling medieval monks
• Workshops from Medieval Clay & History Potters
• A special medieval proclamation from our Town Crier
• Plenty of medieval fun for the whole family!
• Free car parking on all council owned car parks
