New Stoke-on-Trent family hub set to open later this month

A new family hub is set to open in Stoke-on-Trent later this month.
Based at the former Blurton Local Centre, it will be the fifth family hub which has opened in the city following Bentilee, Normacot, Chell Heath and Shelton and a satellite site in Tunstall. Some family hub services are also running from Hanley Market and Stoke Library.
The Blurton Family Hub, on the corner of Finstock Avenue and Ripon Road, will offer support, advice and activities for families and will open on 28 August.
Councillor Sarah Jane Colclough, cabinet member for children's services at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: "Blurton Family Hub will be a fantastic addition to our city's support network.
"It's about creating a network of places where families feel welcome, connected and supported.
"This hub will make a real difference for local families and be a real asset to the Blurton community."
It will offer information and guidance for families with children from conception to 19 years old. Support extends up to 25 years for those with special educational needs and disabilities.
The city council is inviting families to the opening of the new family hub on Thursday 28 August between 10am and 2pm. The event will feature "family-friendly activities, refreshments and a chance to meet the team and explore the new space".
