Woman in 'critical condition' following incident on A500 near Stoke-on-Trent

One woman was found in a 'critical condition' and taken to hospital following an incident on the A500 near Stoke-on-Trent yesterday (6 May).

National Highways temporarily closed the A500 between Hanchurch and Hanford yesterday morning.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to an incident on the A500 Northbound near Clayton, Newcastle under Lyme at 5.10am.

A woman was found in a critical condition and taken to hospital (Google).

"An ambulance, two paramedic officers, MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic and Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Cosford were sent to the scene.

"On arrival, crews found a woman in a critical condition.

"Ambulance staff administered advanced life support before she was conveyed on blue lights to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment."
