Permission has been granted for a vacant Methodist Chapel in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, to be converted into a nine-bedroom HMO (houses in multiple occupation).

Victoria Road Methodist Church, in Fenton, has been vacant for nearly ten years; it was last used in December 2014.

The applicant, Mr Onanuga, applied for permission in April to convert the building into a nine-bedroom HMO.

There will be nine en-suite bedrooms all on the first floor, with a shared lounge, kitchen and kitchen-diner on the ground floor.

The building, on Victoria Road, has been vacant for nearly ten years (Nub News).

No third party objections were received, and Stoke-on-Trent City Council granted permission for the development to go ahead on 3 July.

The officers report said: "The existing building is currently vacant and this proposed change of use would bring this building back into use, the development is considered a sustainable development".
