The Bet365 Stadium and Vale Park have opened donation points for warm clothing to support vulnerable people across Stoke-on-Trent this winter.

Stoke residents are being asked to continue to donate warm clothing to help those in the city who are most in need.

The donation point at Vale Park is inside the Port Vale FC shop and will be open 10am-4pm from Monday to Friday.

The donation point at the Bet365 Stadium is on West 2 Car Park and will be open 10am-5pm from Monday to Friday.

These points join the existing box at the Potteries Centre, on the upper mall by Jack and Jones.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council's Stronger Together Through Winter campaign aims to support local residents through the cost of living crisis (Stoke-on-Trent City Council).

The donations will support the Stronger Together Through Winter initiative, a campaign by Stoke-on-Trent City Council, voluntary and community sector organisation VAST and businesses and groups throughout the city.

The donation points will be collecting warm clothing for adults and children which will be distributed throughout the community to those who need them.

Councillor Abi Brown, leader of the city council said: "I am proud to see residents and groups across our city coming together to help those most in need, particularly at a time when we know many households are feeling anxious about the rising cost of living.

"This kind of support is exactly why Stoke-on-Trent was voted the kindest city in the UK. We have a proven track record of coming together to support others when they need it most. We know that times are tough for everyone but I'd urge anyone who does have any unwanted warm clothes to donate them to support our most vulnerable residents this winter."

The donation point at Port Vale FC will be open 10am-4pm Monday to Friday (Anthony Holland).

Port Vale FC co-owner and chair, Carol Shanahan OBE, said: "On behalf of Port Vale FC and Synectics Solutions, I am proud to co-chair the Stronger Together Through Winter campaign with Stoke-on-Trent City Council and other businesses and community organisations across the city.

"Our supporters and local residents are always wonderful in their support of our community campaigns and I know if they can donate warm clothing to this initiative, they will. "

The donation point at Bet365 Stadium will be on West Two car park (Sarah Garner).

Simon King, Stoke City's Chief Operating Officer, said: "Winter can be a difficult time for many people but it's even more the case this year with the rising cost of living.

"As a club we work hard throughout the year to offer opportunities for vulnerable people in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire but we feel an extra responsibility at this challenging time.

"We are proud to be supporting the Stronger Together Through Winter campaign and would urge anyone with any unwanted warm items of clothing to donate them."

Donation points will be open until 31 March 2023.
