Two people arrested on suspicion of 'arson with intent to endanger life' following Hanley fire

A man and a woman have been arrested following a fire at a derelict night club in Stoke-on-Trent. 

Emergency services have been at the scene at Brockley Square, Hanley, since 5.45am on Tuesday 12 March.

Staffordshire Police said: "A 63-year-old man, of no fixed address, and a 33-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted arson with intent to endanger life.

"Both have been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue. 

A 63-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman have been arrested (Nub News).

"The cause of the fire will be determined following a fire investigation when it's safe to do so.

"We'd like to thank people for their patience and understanding following a period of disruption throughout the city centre over the last 24-hours. Emergency services are working hard to scale down the cordon and bring the incident to a conclusion as safely as possible."
