Two people arrested on suspicion of 'arson with intent to endanger life' following Hanley fire
A man and a woman have been arrested following a fire at a derelict night club in Stoke-on-Trent.
Emergency services have been at the scene at Brockley Square, Hanley, since 5.45am on Tuesday 12 March.
Staffordshire Police said: "A 63-year-old man, of no fixed address, and a 33-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted arson with intent to endanger life.
"Both have been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
"The cause of the fire will be determined following a fire investigation when it's safe to do so.
"We'd like to thank people for their patience and understanding following a period of disruption throughout the city centre over the last 24-hours. Emergency services are working hard to scale down the cordon and bring the incident to a conclusion as safely as possible."
