Plans have come forward for two new flats above Pepe's on Piccadilly, Hanley (Nub News).

Two new self-contained flats could be built above a popular takeaway in Stoke-on-Trent if plans are approved by the local council.

Mr Ahmed, of Cuzzi's Property Ltd, has applied for permission to transform the first floor of 66-68 Piccadilly, Hanley, into two self-contained flats.

The ground floor is currently Pepe's takeaway and restaurant and the first floor is used as a seating area.

The building is currently a two-storey mock-Tudor building with first floor bay windows (Nub News).

As stated in the planning application, "the history of 66 Piccadilly is unknown, but it is currently a two-storey mock-Tudor decorated brick Victoria/Edwardian building, with first floor bay windows and a modern timber shop frontage".

The flats would each have a bedroom, kitchen, ensuite and living space and no changes to the exterior of the building are proposed.

A decision is expected regarding these plans in the coming months.
