Two men jailed after £130k worth of drugs found in Stoke-on-Trent

Two men have been jailed after Staffordshire Police found drugs, worth more than £130,000, in Stoke-on-Trent.
Peter Nwankwo, 50, of Hanley, and Lamin Jallow, 46, of South Queensferry, Scotland were both jailed at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Wednesday (22 April).
It comes after officers from the major and organised crime team (MOCT) carried out two warrants at addresses in Hanley and Basford in July last year, following an investigation into drug supply in the area.
In the Hanley address, cocaine with an estimated street value up to £100,000 was found, along with an estimated £9,850-worth of heroin, an estimated £26,660-worth of crack cocaine and £27,385 in cash.
In the Basford address, Staffordshire Police found more cocaine, believed to be worth around £13,600.
Staffordshire Police explained that Peter Nwankwo - who was arrested inside the Hanley address - had control of both of the addresses where the drugs and cash were found.
Lamin Jallow was arrested at the Basford address. Officers also searched his car. which was parked outside, and found cannabis, digital scales, a mobile phone and a wallet with £220 inside.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "After being questioned in custody, they were both charged with offences and brought before the courts.
"At Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Wednesday (22 April), they were both jailed."
Nwankwo admitted possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (crack cocaine), possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (heroin), possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (cocaine), possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (MDMA), possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (other), possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B (cannabis) and possession of criminal property. He was sentenced to nine years in prison.
Jallow admitted possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (crack cocaine), possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B (cannabis) and being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine. He was jailed for five-years-and-seven-months.
