A man and a boy have been arrested after a knifepoint robbery in North Staffordshire.

The victim had arranged to meet two people in Kidsgrove who were looking to buy a Rolex watch from him on Saturday, 16 August.

When they arrived at 7:30pm, one of the robbers pulled out a knife and took five Rolex watches without paying for them before they got into a car and drove away.

The suspects were spotted by police as they exited the M6 southbound onto the Black Country Route in Bilston, Wolverhampton, where officers stopped them. The knife and the five watches were seized by police from inside the car.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "A 20-year-old man, from Worcestershire, and a 17-year-old boy, from Wolverhampton, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery. They were both questioned and bailed with conditions while our investigation continues.

"By working proactively to tackle burglary, theft and robbery, we were able to reduce the total amount of related crimes in 2024, when compared to 2023. Action will continue against those responsible as we continue to tackle the issues affecting local people and businesses the most in Staffordshire."
