A Stoke-on-Trent Post Office which shut in February 2024 is due to open at a new location in the autumn.

The Post Office previously based at the Bentilee District Centre, on Dawlish Drive, is due to open at Bugsy's DIY on Beverley Drive in October and will be renamed as Beverley Drive Post Office.

The opening will restore some Post Office services to the area after the Dawlish Drive Post Office closed on 9 February last year due to the resignation of the temporary postmaster who was running the branch.

However, the new post office will not offer travel money, passport applications and renewals, on-demand travel insurance or vehicle tax services.

A spokesperson for the Post Office said: "We are looking to restore the service as soon as possible and the branch is due to open at the new location in October.

"The opening hours will be Monday - Sunday: 9am – 5.30pm. This will provide 59 hours and 30 minutes of Post Office service a week for the convenience of customers.

"The same products and services will still be available, however, excluding Travel Money, Passport Check and Send, on Demand Travel Insurance and Vehicle Tax."

"There is a customer car park with a disabled parking bay directly outside the new premises."

Post Office customers are invited to give feedback until 9 September by visiting postofficeviews.co.uk using the branch code 396238.

Submissions can also be made via email to [email protected], by post to Freepost YOUR COMMENTS, or by telephone 03452 66 01 15 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.
