Middleport Pottery celebrates 10 years as a heritage visitor attraction and creative hub
Situated in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent, Middleport Pottery is the UK's last working Victorian pottery factory in continuous production and remains home to world-famous Burleigh pottery.
In 2023, over 50,000 visitors passed through its doors to enjoy everything the site has to offer.
To celebrate the milestone 10th anniversary of its successful regeneration, Middleport Pottery is hosting a huge range of anniversary events.
Fashion retailer in Stoke-on-Trent closes its doors after 13 years
A fashion retailer inside The Potteries Centre, Hanley, closed its doors this week after 13 years inside the shopping centre.
USC launched a huge closing down sale in April 2024 and staff told Nub News the shop would close in June, although no specific date was confirmed.
The shutters have finally come down this week and staff could be seen emptying out the store, which stocked a huge range of brands including CP Company, New Balance, Lacoste and Hugo Boss.
McDonalds branch in Stoke-on-Trent closes for 'convenience of the future' refurbishment
A busy McDonalds branch in Stoke-on-Trent is now closed whilst a 'convenience of the future' refurbishment takes place.
The eatery on Lysander Road, Meir Park, has closed its doors and is not expected to reopen until mid-August.
The 'convenience of the future' restaurant revamp programme combines a new layout with the latest technology to create a more seamless experience for customers.
Ten weeks of roadworks to begin on Stoke-on-Trent estate this month
Motorists are being warned to plan extra time for journeys in and out of the Eaton Park estate due to vital roadworks.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place on Arbourfield Drive while the bridge over the former railway line is resurfaced.
Contractors working for Stoke-on-Trent City Council plan to start work on Monday 24 June and estimate it will take ten weeks.
Man charged following house fire in Stoke-on-Trent
A man has been charged following a house fire in Stoke-on-Trent last week.
Stanley Tamakloe, 59, from Penkhull, has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life.
It comes after officers went to an address near Hunters Way, Penkhull, just after 1am on Friday 7 June and found it well-alight.
