A popular Stoke-on-Trent pub is set to reopen on Friday 27 September following a transformational investment of over £196,000.
Behind the bar of The Travellers Rest, Milton, are husband and wife Ian 'Steve' Stevenson and Polly Stevenson, who have been running pubs together for three years.
Inside, the pub features a full refurbishment including updates to both the bar and lounge area to create a warmer and more inviting space for customers.
Outside, customers will be treated to brand-new televisions equipped with Sky Sports allowing fans to support their teams al fresco during the warmer months.
To celebrate the reopening, the pub will be hosting a performance from local artist, DJ Ronski from 6pm on Friday 27th.
The Travellers Rest will offer a wide range of drinks offers, including Wine Wednesday, where customers can get £2 off a bottle, Fizz Friday, offering customers a bottle of fizz for £10, along with cocktails, bottle and shot deals throughout the week.
Steve and Polly Stevenson said: "The pub is looking fantastic! It has already been transformed and we can't wait to get back behind the bar. We look forward to welcoming back customers and showing off everything that it has to offer.
"We are also keen to support the local community in any way I can and will be starting off by collecting food for a local food bank and fundraising to have a lifesaving defibrillator installed. Pubs are the hub of their community, and we can't wait to be the hub of Milton."
On top of the fantastic drink selection, The Travellers Rest will run a busy schedule of entertainment including regular live music. The pub will also be hosting regular quiz and bingo nights for the more competitive customers to enjoy.
Going forward, Steve and Polly hope to run a series of fundraising events for causes that are meaningful to both themselves and the local community. They plan to continue to work closely with the local Dougie Mac hospice as well as KMAC, a charity raising funds for immunotherapy research and are also open to suggestions on worthy causes from the local community.
Matthew Gurney, Operations Director for Proper Pubs, said: "I'm really excited about the reopening of The Travellers Rest, and especially to welcome back Steve and Polly as operators! The pub looks amazing already, we are just working on those final touches ahead of the reopening!
On behalf of the Proper Pubs team, we would like to wish our community heroes Steve and Polly, every inch of success for the future in making The Travellers Rest a fantastic hub of the community."
