A popular restaurant is to close one Stoke-on-Trent branch this weekend.

Frankie & Benny's, on Festival Park, will close for good on Sunday 22 September at 5pm.

A notice on the window of the restaurant says: "We regret to inform you that our doors will be closing.

"We want to thank each and every guest who has shared their time with us, whether that be for a birthday, engagement, date night, and family days. We appreciate the good times that have been shared.

"Our nearest branch will now be Frankie & Benny's, on Trentham Estate. From all of us here, thank you."

A notice has been placed in the window of the restaurant, informing customers of the closure (Nub News).

A Frankie & Benny's spokesperson said: "Unfortunately the lease on this restaurant expired and despite our best efforts new terms could not be agreed.

"We would like to thank our loyal teams who have done an amazing job and where possible have been offered positions at nearby restaurants.

"This particular restaurant was in operation for many years and loved by our guests but don't worry, we are actively looking for nearby locations and will be back soon!"

The branch on Trentham Estate is open 9am-10pm every day.
