Stoke man charged with criminal damage following fight in nearby town

A Stoke-on-Trent man has been charged with criminal damage following a fight in the West End of Crewe, where a house window ended up "smashed."

On Saturday 9 September, Cheshire Police received reports of a group of males attacking each other, off Ford Lane.

This fight resulted in a house window being smashed on Mount Pleasant.

In the early hours, officers located and detained two men on Ford Lane.

Following further enquiries, two men were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

Lewis Gaffney, 26, from Stoke-on-Trent, has since been charged with criminal damage.

He is set to appear in court on Thursday 5 October.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "In the early hours of Saturday 9 September, reports came in regarding a group of males attacking each other, and a house window being smashed near Ford lane.  

"Response patrol officers and firearms officers attended the location and two males were located and detained on Ford lane.

Lewis Gaffney, 26, from Stoke-on-Trent, has since been charged with criminal damage and is set to appear in court on Thursday 5 October (Cheshire Police).

"After further enquiries the two males were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage by putting a window through on Mount pleasant. 

"Lewis Gaffney, 26, from Stoke-on-Trent, has now been charged with criminal damage. He will appear in court on Thursday 5 October."
