A popular local business has been busy celebrating a whole year of trading in Stoke town centre.

Wilshaws, based on Kingsway in Stoke, is an independent shoe repairers, trophy centre, engravers and locksmith.

Owners, Steve and Janet Wilshaw opened the shop last November and since then have restored a huge range of shoes, bags and trainers, engraved hundreds of trophies and cut countless keys.

To celebrate the anniversary, Wilshaws is hosting a party tomorrow (16 November), with a lucky dip, non-alcoholic Prosecco and cakes.

Janet explained: "We're having a party just to say thank you, we've had some beautiful customers and we're just so pleased, so we wanted to thank everyone.

"The renovations have been keeping us really busy - bags, trainers, shoes, anything really. We've got some 100-year-old spurs in at the moment - we see some really interesting things!"

As part of their popular renovation work, Janet and Steve have recently launched a new service recolouring Louboutin shoes.

One customer who used this service left a review, saying: "Absolutely amazing work from Wilshaws! They did not disappoint. I could not recommend them enough. My Louboutins were in bad shape after a holiday and they completely restored them back to life."

This fantastic work on a pair of Louboutin shoes earned the business a five star review (Wilshaws).

Another sparkling review came from a customer who had a Mulberry bag restored. She wrote: "I am absolutely delighted with the result! What was a tired old leather bag is now usable and looking amazing again. Customer service is excellent and key cutting very reasonably priced compared to other places".

Wilshaws is open 9am-4.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and 9.30am-3pm on Saturday.

The business will be closing for a week-long festive break on 21 December.
