The weekend is right around the corner and there is plenty to get up to this weekend including with VE Day festivities, a new art trail launch and more.

Celebrate the launch of A Canalside Arcana | Canalside between Hanley Park and Etruria | Sat 10 May 11am-2pm

Celebrate the launch of A Canalside Arcana - Stoke-on-Trent's newest art trail along the canal between Etruria and Hanley Park - with a free even filled with creativity, music, and more!

The day will be filled with things to see and do at either end of the trail in Etruria and Hanley Park including live music, hands-on clay activities with ceramic artists, drop-in creative workshops on a long boat, a frog performer, and refreshments.

You can walk the trail with a pack of beautiful hand-drawn arcana cards and a map that to take home and keep, or book onto a guided walk with Anna herself.

Fenton VE Day party | Fenton Town Hall | 10 May 12pm-4:30pm

Bring your picnic and chairs and have fun at a VE Day party at Fenton Town Hall on Saturday 10 May. 

Enjoy entertainment from Baker Street Belles, DJ Ian Price and Alan Barrett. Live music will play throughout the afternoon. The organisers plan lots of activities for children so it's a day for all ages.

The party runs from 12pm to 4.30pm. 

The Lord Mayor will also unveil a blue plaque from 11am at Fenton Town Hall in memory of John Grocot, a man from Fenton who was the first in house plastic surgeon outside London and an unsung hero of World War II.

Day Diggin | The Backyard and Desire Cocktail Bar, Hanley | Sat 10 May 3pm-3am

The Backyard is back for 2025 with the first event of the season - Raw:Frequencies Presents Day Diggin between 3pm and 10:30pm.

Kick our summer off as you mean to go on! The organisers say they have selecting the cities finest talent to ensure the music & vibes are perfect from start to finish.

And if that's not enough there's an afters from 10:30pm until 3am at Desire Cocktail Bar next door
