Arrest after man stabbed in Newcastle-under-Lyme

A man has been arrested after another man was stabbed in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Officers were called to Silverdale Road at 7.05am today (Thursday 7 May) following reports that a man had been stabbed.
Staffordshire Police explained that the victim was taken to hospital with "minor injuries".
A 25-year-old man, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody for questioning.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We are treating this as an isolated incident and we understand the injured man and the man arrested are known to each other.
