Police seize two bikes at closed Stoke-on-Trent golf course

Staffordshire Police has seized two more off-road bikes in Stoke-on-Trent.
The riders were seen by officers riding across the grass at Goldenhill Golf Course on Monday evening (16 June) and they ran off on foot once they spotted the police. The riders ditched bikes and they were seized by police.
The force has already seized 35 off-road bikes so far this year and officers say they are seeking to educate those involved and make sure young people and their guardians are aware of the laws surrounding off-road bikes, motorbikes and e-scooters.
Inspector Chris Moss, from our Road Crime Team, said: "Off-road bikes are a persistent problem across Staffordshire and put pedestrians and other motorists at risk.
"This campaign is all about keeping people safe on the roads so it is important that people are educated about road safety as well as driving and riding safely.
"We're committed to taking action against those who persistently put others at risk by driving dangerously and illegal on Staffordshire's roads."
Staffordshire Police is appealing for anyone with CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage in relation to the Goldenhill incident. To get in touch. Call 101, quoting incident 765 of 16 April, or use Live Chat on the website. To report anonymously, call Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
