Fire crews tackling 'large wildfire' at Park Hall Country Park in Stoke-on-Trent

Fire crews are currently at the scene of a 'large wildfire' at a Stoke-on-Trent beauty spot.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue was called out to Park Hall Country Park at around 3pm today (18 June) and crews are still tackling the blaze.

Nearby residents saw smoke rising from the trees and some flames this afternoon, leading a number of them to call 999. Both hose reel jets and beaters are currently being used to extinguish the fire.

There have been no reported injuries.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said: "We are currently at the scene of a large wildfire at Park Hall Country Park, Stoke-on-Trent.

"Fire crews were called to the scene at 3pm today (Wednesday 18 June) alongside colleagues from Staffordshire Police.

"Hose reel jets and beaters are being used to extinguish the fire and nobody is reported injured."
