Plans submitted to transform vacant Burslem pub into seven new apartments
Plans have been submitted to transform a vacant pub site in Burslem into seven new apartments.
Built in 1889, The White Hart, on Westport Road, was forced to close in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 lockdown and did not reopen.
In a Facebook post, manager Dave Berrisford wrote: "Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions the White Hart 80s and 90s bar will not be reopening.
"Unfortunately, I cannot pay the bills there no more because it has been shut for six months. Thanks to everyone who supported this venue when it was open. I am gutted to say the least."
Now, plans have been submitted to transform the 199 square meter site into new apartments.
HS Property Group is proposing six one-bed flats, one two-bed flat and seven cycle spaces for residents.
A decision has not yet been made regarding these plans.
