One woman taken to hospital following multi-vehicle collision on A50 in Meir

One woman has been taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital following a road traffic collision on the A50 in Meir this afternoon (11 January).

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service told Nub News: "On arrival, crews discovered three cars had been involved in a collision.

A woman suffered a medical episode at the wheel prior to the collision (Nub News).

"There was one patient requiring assistance, a woman, who was not injured but crews were told had suffered a suspected medical episode at the wheel prior to the collision.

"She was treated at the scene and conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital."

Staffordshire Police said: "We were called at 1.10pm this afternoon (11 January) to reports of a multi-vehicle collision on the A50 at Catchems Corner, near Meir Park. 

"The collision involved a Mercedes, a Renault Clio, an Audi and a Vauxhall Vivaro van. 

"The driver of the Mercedes was taken to hospital by ambulance . The driver and passenger of the Renault Clio were attending hospital. The driver of the van was not injured."
