Potteries Folk Club | Fenton Town Hall | Fri 11 Sept

Will Finn and Rosie Calvert will be this month's guests at The Potteries Folk Club at Fenton Town Hall on Friday 11 September.

The Potteries Folk Club said: "Will Finn and Rosie Calvert are an award-winning husband-and-wife duo who came together through their love of music.

"First coming to prominence with their acapella quartet The Teacups, the pair perform traditional and contemporary folk music with vibrancy and flair – intricate harmonies; the rousing instrumentation of piano, steel pan, and ukulele; and joyful, warm stage presence."

Doors will open at 7:15pm for a 7:45pm start, with floor singers before the main act.

The Odyssey | Stoke Film Theatre | Hartshill Rd | Fri 11 and Sat 12 Sept

Stoke-on-Trent's independent cinema, Stoke Film Theatre, will be showing The Odyssey on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 September at 7:45pm.

The cinema is located at The Wade Centre, Hartshill Road.

Stoke Film Theatre said: "Christopher Nolan's much anticipated adaptation of The Odyssey. Homer's heroic tale of the arduous, danger-filled journey of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, from the Trojan War back to his homeland, where his wife Penelope awaits his return while fighting off a hoard of suitors.

"Along the way, the Odysseus and his dwindling army are faced with many of the Gods' worst creations and temptations."

Bethesda Chapel Open Day | Hanley | Sat 12 Sept

As part of Heritage Open Days, people will be able to look around Bethesda Methodist Chapel in Hanley on Saturday 12 September from 12 to 2pm.

Re-Form Heritage / Friends of Bethesda guides will be available to share the history of the building and discuss future plans.

The oragnisers said: "An opportunity to visit Bethesda Methodist Chapel, once known as the Cathedral of the Potteries. This beautiful Grade II* listed building seated up to 2500 people in its heyday, making it the largest place of worship in North Staffordshire."

Ford Green Hall Open Day | Sun 13 Sept

As part of Heritage Open Days, Ford Green Hall will be hosting an open day with displays available for visitors to view from 1 pm to 3.30pm.

The oragnisers said: "Meet a Civil war soldier and handle replica weapons and armour. We'll have a display promoting our ancestry project and inviting visitors interested about exploring their family tree will be able to sign up to join the Ancestry group we are establishing at the Hall with a display promoting the project.

"We will also have a display (in addition to our Archaeology display) with details about the archive work at the Hall. We will be available to talk to visitors and answer questions about the Ancestry project and the Archive work."

World of Wedgwood Artisan Market | Barlaston | Sun 13 Sept

The World of Wedgwood Artisan Market will return on Sunday 13 September from 10am to 4pm.

The market will showcase street food, handmade gifts, ceramics and homewares.

The organisers said: "September has arrived, the seasons are beginning to turn and we've got the perfect Sunday waiting for you at the World of Wedgwood Artisan Market.

"Spend the day discovering brilliant independent makers, bakers, creators and producers, all bringing something a little different to beautiful Barlaston."

Entry is free and there is free parking available.
