A brand-new charity shop in Stoke-on-Trent, due to open later this year, has been given the green light by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

The Salvation Army will open a large charity shop on Springfields Retail Park, Trent Vale, in the former Carpetright unit, next to Pets at Home.

Staff have now been given permission to begin installing a variety of signs outside the unit, which will bear the Salvation Army logo and branding.

Proposed front election of the new shop (David Magnani).

The unit, which has been empty for nearly five years, will then become a 7,000 square meter charity shop where people can donate items as well as shop for hidden gems.

No concerns were raised from third parties regarding the application, and on Monday (3 July), Stoke-on-Trent City Council granted permission for the plans to go ahead.
