A man has been jailed after calling a woman around 400 times in less than a week despite being banned from having any contact with her.
Sean Philip Vincent, 38, from Biddulph, was sentenced to two years in prison at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Wednesday 26 November after pleading guilty to intimidating a witness or juror and stalking involving serious alarm or distress.
On Tuesday 17 June, Vincent was released from prison on bail with conditions not to contact the victim.
Staffordshire Police explained that over the next six days he continuously called, sent messages and sent voice notes to her through different phone numbers and social media profiles.
Vincent admitted to officers that he had called the victim around 400 times when he was arrested on Monday 23 June.
Despite initially pleading not guilty to the offences, Vincent later changed his plea in court.
PC Olivia May, of CID north, said: "Firstly I commend the bravery of the victim in this case in coming forward and reporting what happened to her.
"I hope Vincent's conviction and sentence can offer her some closure and shows that we take such reports extremely seriously and will act against those responsible.
"I would urge any victims of such crimes to come forward and report it to us; we will listen and do our best to bring you justice."
