Man charged after 54 cannabis plants found inside Stoke-on-Trent property

A man has been charged after a member of the public alerted police to a cannabis grow in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police received an anonymous report at around 8.30pm on 2 December of suspicious activity at a property on Birches Head Road.

After forcing entry to the property, officers found and seized 54 cannabis plants and a mobile phone.

Kreshnik Ahmetaj, 34, of no fixed address, has been charged with producing a controlled drug of class B (cannabis).

Ahmetaj appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Wednesday 4 December and was remanded in custody to a date to be fixed.
