A major road in Stoke-on-Trent is now closed until Christmas Eve whilst gas works are carried out.

Grindley Lane is closed between the junctions for Windmill Hill and Grange Road; traffic is being diverted along Uttoxeter Road.

Cadent say the closure is necessary for "gas main replacement works".

Cadent is carrying out 'gas main replacement works' (Nub News).

A road closure notice from Staffordshire County Council says: "NOTICE is hereby given that Staffordshire County Council on 05 December 2024 intends to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in that length of Grindley Lane in Meir Heath from its junction with A520 Windmill Hill to its junction with Grange Road unless the vehicle is being used in connection with the works; or unless the vehicle requires access to properties on the length of road."

Stoke Nub News has contacted Cadent for more information.
