Man arrested after stealing items and threatening staff at Stoke-on-Trent store

A man has been arrested following a disturbance at a shop in Stoke-on-Trent yesterday (15 January).

Police were called to Century Retail Park in Hanley just before 8pm, following reports of a man stealing items and threatening retail security staff.

On arrival, officers discovered a knife, a quantity of drugs and suspected stolen bank and gift cards.

A 38-year-old man, of no fixed address, has since been arrested on suspicion of affray, possession of a class B drug, possession of a blade or pointed article in a public place, theft and theft from a shop.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested and released under conditional police bail (Staffordshire Police).

He has also been arrested on suspicion of burglary dwelling and burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal following two separate burglaries in the Stoke-on-Trent area, recently.

He was interviewed in custody and has since been released under conditional police bail while enquires continue.
