A 24-year-old man has been jailed for two years after he admitted carrying out multiple attacks on a Stoke-on-Trent woman.

Callum Lovatt, from Coventry, was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Tuesday (21 April).

He pleaded guilty to two charges of assault by beating and three offences of assault occasioning actual bodily harm at an earlier hearing.

PC Lauren Taylor, from Stoke South Local Policing Team (LPT), said: "As a force priority, tackling violence against women and girls is very important to us and we work hard to change behaviours and bring offending to light.

"I'm pleased we've been able to deliver this result for the victim in this case, who has shown courage throughout the investigation and court proceedings.

"If you want to report domestic abuse offences to us, call 101, or use Live Chat on our website. We're here to support you and to act robustly against those responsible."

Staffordshire Police explained that Lovatt assaulted his ex-girlfriend on three separate occasions between December 2024 and August last year.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "During the final assault, he headbutted his victim in the head so hard she suffered from concussion."
