Firefighters extinguish accidental house fire in Stoke-on-Trent

Firefighters have extinguished an "accidental" house fire in Stoke-on-Trent.
Crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a house on Farmwood Close in Meir following reports of a fire at 9.45pm on Tuesday (16 June).
The service said the cause of the fire was deemed to be accidental, by clothes being left on a cooker.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Three appliances attended the scene and found a fire on the first floor of the property.
"Crews used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and ventilated the property."
Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service treated a man at the scene for smoke inhalation. He did not require hospital treatment.
The cause was deemed to be accidental, by clothes being left on a cooker.
Crews left the scene at 12.30am on Wednesday (17 June)
