Pride in the Moorlands will return this weekend bringing three days of "celebration, creativity and community" to towns and villages across the Staffordshire Moorlands.

The weekend celebration, organised by arts programme OUTSIDE and a steering group of local LGBTQ+ community and allies, will take place from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 June.

The full programme of events has now been revealed and include a wide range of activities including a textile craft workshop in Cheadle, a roller disco in Biddulph, Pride oatcakes in Endon and a parade through Leek.

Katie Aldous, Director of OUTSIDE, said: "We're incredibly excited to see Staffordshire Moorlands Pride return for its second year.

"What makes Pride here special is that it's created by and for local people. The programme reflects the creativity, warmth and diversity of our communities, while creating visible spaces where LGBTQ+ people can feel welcomed, celebrated and connected.

"Whether you're part of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally, there's something for everyone to enjoy throughout the weekend."

The return of 'Big Fatt Dance Party' hosted by Ginny Lemon – fan favourite from RuPaul's Drag Race UK - is expected to be a highlight of this year's event, which us supported by Your Housing Group.

Other events include the vibrant Punjabi Roots Dhol drumming and dance in Leek Market Square, and an all-day Pride Stories Exhibition and workshops with Dr Christopher Owen at Foxlowe Arts Centre.

The Pride Torch will also once again travel across the Moorlands and is intended as a symbol of unity and visibility.

The torch will begin its journey in Flash Village on Friday afternoon and pass through Biddulph, Cheadle and Endon before arriving in Leek on Sunday 28 June.

All Pride in the Moorlands events and activities are free to attend.
