Fire crews are continuing to tackle a blaze at an industrial estate in Stoke-on-Trent this morning (4 Jun).

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue sent four crews to a waste fire close to warehouses at the Longbridge Hayes industrial estate at 11:45pm yesterday and the fire service remains on the scene.

Chemical Lane has been closed in both directions by Staffordshire Police at the scene and smoke is still visible. It's not thought there are any injuries.

Residents living within the area are being advised to keep their doors and windows closed as a precaution.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said: "We are advising the public to exercise caution as we continue to deal with a large waste fire in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent.

"Firefighters were called to the business premises on Chemical Lane, Longport, at around 11.45pm on Tuesday 3 June.

"We have five pumps currently on-site and colleagues from Staffordshire Police are in attendance to support any road closures.

"There are no injuries reported.

"Residents living within the area are advised to keep their doors and windows closed as a precaution and commuters may face some delays on the A500 this morning."
