Every Staffordshire resident featured on the King's New Year Honours list 2026

The King's New Year Honours list has been released.

The list recognises the achievements and service of extraordinary people across the UK.

Ten Staffordshire residents feature on the 2026 edition, including one Stoke-on-Trent resident

Without further ado, here is every local to make the cut.

Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE)

Gillian Dawn Boast (Burton-on-Trent): Training Programme Lead, General Practice Nursing Foundation School, General Practice Nursing Facilitator, Staffordshire Training Hub and Primary Care Development Nurse, Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board. For services to Primary Care Nursing

Kerry Davis (Lichfield): For services to Association Football and to Diversity in Sport.

Dr Paul Kevin Hegarty (Lichfield): Trustee, Licensed Trade Charity. For Charitable Service to the Hospitality Sector.

Dr Catherine Louise Taylor-Weetman (Lichfield): Consultant in Dental Public Health, Shropshire and Staffordshire Dental Local Professional Network, NHS England. For services to Dentistry.

Medallists of the Order of the British Empire  (BEM)

Susan Jane Bohanan (Stafford): Special Constabulary Co-Ordinator, Staffordshire Police. For services to the community in Staffordshire

Philip John Charles (Rugeley): For services to the community in Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire.

Russell David Clark (Newcastle-under-Lyme): Head of Languages Centre, University of Keele, Staffordshire. For services to Higher Education. 

Joan Catherine Fairley (Tamworth): For services to the community in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

Richard Graham Hill (Stoke-on-Trent): For services to Charity in Staffordshire.

Charles Frederick Hodges (Stourbridge): For services to the community in Enville, Staffordshire.

Staffordshire County Council has celebrated the residents honoured with MBEs and BEMs for their services to diversity in sport, higher education, public health, local communities and to charity.

Martin Murray, Acting Leader of Staffordshire County Council, said: "The commitment, generosity and expertise of Staffordshire's residents are some of the reasons why this county is the beating heart of the country.

"On behalf of us all I thank those honoured today by the King for their long contribution to their professions or their communities."

Prof Liz Barnes CBE, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire, said: "Staffordshire thrives because of the contribution and impact that so many people make to their local communities or more broadly to their specialisms in work where they go above and beyond, positively influencing the work and lives of others.

"I am always humbled by what individuals can achieve through dedicated service and support. Congratulations to all those recipients of Honours in Staffordshire, I am so pleased to see them recognised in this way by His Majesty."
