An eight-point plan has been revealed to "improve the look and feel" of Hanley after complaints were raised regarding the city centre's reputation.
The clean up, named Operation Sparkle, aims to "maintain a quality environment that will attract shoppers and visitors whilst increasing footfall".
Stoke-on-Trent BID will be hosting a Big Spring Clean weekend on 14 and 15 April and are looking for volunteers to help them clean up the city centre.
BID Manager, Richard Buxton, commented: "After the success of Operation Sparkle in 2021 and 2022, we look forward to further improving our City Centre throughout 2023.
"Working with our key partners, Stoke-on-Trent City Council & The Potteries Centre, we have a programme of actions that will give our visitors and businesses alike a City Centre to be proud of.
"Everyone can get involved in our Big Spring Clean weekend and we will continue to deliver the City Centre we all deserve."
The 2023 action plan will see:
- Planters and benches added to Parliament Square to create a 'more welcoming space for people for visitors'
- Litter-picking across various areas of the city centre
- Road repairs, building work and planters introduced on Stafford Street to 'hugely improve the area creating a safer cleaner environment'
- Hanging baskets and planters installed across several areas within the city centre, including Piccadilly, Cheapside, Parliament Square and around the indoor market
- Installation of 'ballot bins' for cigarette buttsthroughout the city centre
- New pieces of artwork across the city centre
- Improvement works on Hope Street, including rejuvenating frontages
- Removing damaged fascias and overgrowth on Harvey's Building, Parliament Square
