Driver seriously injured in collision on M6 near Stoke-on-Trent

A man has sustained serious injuries following a collision involving a car and a lorry on the M6 near Stoke-on-Trent.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the M6 between junctions 15 and 14 at 1.25am on Friday 29 November.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "Upon arrival crews found a man who was the driver of the car, who was extricated from the vehicle by the fire service. 

"Once extricated, he was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained very serious injuries. Ambulance staff administered advanced trauma care to him at the scene.

"He was conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment.

"The driver of the lorry did not require treatment."
