A 'selfish' quad biker has been jailed and banned from driving after pleading guilty to dangerous driving.

Dominic Daniels, 29, of Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent failed to stop when police tried to pull him over for his dangerous driving on Chell Heath Road on 17 November 2024.

Daniels rode off and travelled at excess speed through Kidsgrove, recklessly riding through red lights in a bid to shake the police but officers caught up and he was arrested.

He has now been sentenced to 32-weeks in prison, banned from driving for three years and his quad bike has been seized.

He pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle dangerously and using a motor vehicle on a public road without third party insurance at an earlier hearing.

Chief Inspector Scott McGrath, from our road crime team, said: "As we have said repeatedly in the past, this behaviour will not be tolerated

"These individuals are putting other road users and pedestrians at risk with their selfish, dangerous and inconsiderate actions.

"They are putting themselves at risk not only of criminal prosecution, but also of very serious injury when they ride in the way that they do.

"Although it is not always possible to safely bring these bikes and their riders to a stop, we do have many other tools at our disposal to catch up with them and hold them to account later on."
