Thunderstorm warning issued for Stoke-on-Trent

The Met Office has issued a yellow thunderstorm weather warning covering Stoke-on-Trent.
The yellow weather warning will be in place from 5am today (Thursday 27 August) until 10pm.
The Met Office said: "Thunderstorms and heavy rain may lead to some disruption".
Due to flooding, there could be delays or cancellations to train and bus services.
This could also make driving conditions difficult and mean roads need to be closed.
The Met Office also explained that there is a possibility of power cuts and that flooding of homes and businesses "could happen quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes".
