Award-winning Stoke-on-Trent choir to perform at nearby care home
Residents at a Sandbach care home are in for a real treat this weekend when an award-winning choir from Stoke-on-Trent pays them a visit.
The City of Stoke-on-Trent Male Voice Choir, known as 'The Boys in Blue', are going to Elworth Grange Care Home on Saturday (January 20th).
And members of the public are being invited to go along and hear the performance which starts at 2.30pm.
First known as Parkhall Colliery Male Voice Choir formed in 1950, The Boys in Blue are a pillar of the community having performed for audiences at Wembley Stadium and Victoria Hall in Hanley, and proudly supporting musical youth.
Eighty-three-year-old Elworth Grange resident, Alan Imrie, said: "I'm really looking forward to seeing the choir perform.
"I used to be part of an all-boys choir when I was younger. I always enjoyed being part of the group, and now I join in with Elworth Grange's singing group – I'm the baritone."
John Craig, the Home Manager at Elworth Grange, added: "We're very excited to welcome the City of Stoke-on-Trent Male Voice Choir to our home. We're sure it'll be a performance to remember.
"All are welcome to join us, and we'll have refreshments available, so please come along for some fantastic musical entertainment!"
