Vale 0, Huddersfield 0: A stalemate encounter has relegation looming for The Valiants
By William Vickers 16th Mar 2026
Port Vale would have to clamber back a thirteen-point gap to avoid relegation on the back end of the season after a 0-0 draw on Saturday (14 March).
Huddersfield have lost five of their last seven away league matches and have failed to score in the last four of them.
As it stands, they remain sixth in the league as fringe contenders for play-offs contention.
Vale's Liam Gordon rescued the ball in the nick of time after almost helping Marcus Harness open the scoring (17).
The Terriers discovered the FA Cup quarter finalists were difficult to break on home turf.
Vale had a close encounter in the first half's added time (47) as Josh Feeney's header ricocheted off the crossbar from Lasse Sorensen's pearler of a delivery from the corner spot.
Dr Faye Davis, Port Vale season ticket holder, said after the match: "It was a hard-fought draw. It is clear the team are fatigued but great to see the fight Brady has instilled.
"Players will be fighting for a place at the Chelsea Cup tie.
"We just must stay behind them now no matter what."
