Stoke City and Port Vale reveal their 23/24 season fixtures
Both of Stoke-on-Trent's biggest football clubs have revealed their 23/24 season fixtures this morning.
Stoke City FC
Stoke City's 2023/24 Championship fixtures have been revealed with the Potters kicking off the new campaign at the bet365 Stadium against Rotherham United on Saturday, August 5.
The Potters are away on Boxing Day, making the journey down the M6 to Birmingham City, which is then followed by a trip to Vicarage Road for the return fixture against the Hornets – City's final fixture of 2023 on Friday, December 29.
2024 will then kick-off on New Year's Day with the visit of Ipswich Town to the bet365 Stadium, while the Potters face a trip to Hull City on Good Friday (March 20) before returning home for an Easter Monday clash with Huddersfield Town.
The regular 2023/24 season will conclude at the bet365 Stadium too, with Bristol City the visitors to the Potteries on Saturday, May 4. City's away campaign finishes a week earlier with a journey to Southampton for the first meeting between the two sides at St. Mary's since March 2018.
Port Vale FC
The Vale begin the 2023/24 Sky Bet League One season with a trip to Oakwell to take on 2022/23 Play-Off Finalists, Barnsley, on Saturday 5th August.
Andy Crosby's Valiants then welcome League One newcomers Reading to Vale Park the following week in their first home league game of the season, their first league fixture against the Royals in over 20 years.
Boxing Day then sees the return fixture against Barnsley when Vale welcome the Tykes to Burslem for the first match of a festive double-header before Neil Critchley's Blackpool head to Vale Park on the following Friday.
The team's New Year's Day fixture sees them take the trip up the M6 to take on newly-promoted Carlisle United at Brunton Park.
