BAMBOO and Circus | Brownfield Bamboo Parklet | Stoke | Thur 30 July

Brilliant Bamboo will be hosting family friendly circus event on Thursday 30 July featuring NoFit State Circus' spectacular BAMBOO show.

The event will also feature hands-on circus skills and workshops as well as bamboo-making.

The orgnanisers said: "Join Brilliant Bamboo for an afternoon of circus fun at the Brownfield Bamboo Parklet"

They added: "Bring your friend and family and enjoy an unforgettable afternoon."

The free event takes place between 2pm and 6pm with BAMBOO shows at 2.30pm and 5pm.

Tales in the Park | Hanley | Fri 31 July

The National Literacy Trust is inviting families to Hanley Park on Friday 31 July for the return of Tales in the Park.

The free event will take place between 11am and 3pm featuring storytelling sessions, circus skills, bouncy castles and free books donated by Harper Collins.

The organisers said: "Taking place in parks across the six towns of Stoke-on-Trent, Tales in the Park is free for all Stoke families to attend and there will be something for everyone to enjoy."

Art Exhibition | Great Bear Gallery | Tunstall | Sat 1 to Sun 2 Aug

The Great Bear Gallery in Tunstall will be hosting the 'Greetings from the Gallery' postcard art exhibition on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August.

The postcard takeover will feature original 6×4 artworks created by local artists priced at £25 or £35.

Great Bear Gallery said: "Take your favourite artwork straight home with you!

"Once a piece is sold, it's gone — so don't miss your chance to own an original work of art."

The exhibition is free to attend and takes place from 10am to 6pm.

Repair Cafe | The Brampton Museum | Newcastle-under-Lyme | Sat 1 Aug

Social Connective CIC will be hosting a repair cafe at The Brampton Museum from 11am to 3pm.

The organisers said: "Newcastle's Repair Café where you can bring your items to be repaired for free, including electricals, textiles, and household (excluding appliances, watches, clocks and smart devices)

"Amelia's Pop Up Café serving a tasty selection of cakes, baked goods and hot and cold drinks."

Wet Felting Workshop | Spode Museum | Stoke | Sat 1 Aug

A wet felting workshop will take place at the Spode Museum on Saturday 1 August inspired by the landscapes of Staffordshire.

The £65 workshop will feature step-by-step tuition, materials and equipment and bottomless hot drinks.

The organisers said: "Using the art of wet felting, you'll learn how to transform soft merino wool fibres into a stunning felted landscape, capturing everything from patchwork fields and winding country lanes to dramatic skies, moorland views and the colours of the changing seasons.

"Whether you're inspired by the Staffordshire Moorlands, Cannock Chase, the Peak District fringe or your own favourite local view, you'll create a unique artwork full of texture, colour and character."
