A weather warning has been raised for Stoke-on-Trent from this afternoon, as the snowy and icy conditions continue.

Put in place by the Met Office, a yellow warning for snow is in place from from 5pm today (Thursday 8 January) until 12pm tomorrow (Friday 9 January).

The Met Office said: "Storm Goretti likely to bring heavy snow leading to disruption and difficult travelling conditions."

They warned of possible travel delays and explained that "power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected".

There are several weather warnings in place over much of Great Britain.

For more information and safety advice visit the Met Office website here.
