Two men and a teenage boy charged after bin men assaulted in Birches Head

Staffordshire Police have charged two men and a teenage boy in connection with assaults on a number of refuse collectors in Birches Head last month.

Jack Spackman, 23, has been charged with two counts of conspire to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and criminal damage. 

Kyle Worthington, 19, has been charged with two counts of conspire to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of possession of a firearm to cause fear of violence.  

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of conspire to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and criminal damage. 

Those charged will appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Wiki Commons).

A Stoke-on-Trent City Council spokesman said: "On Tuesday 21 March, two of our bin crews were assaulted while doing their jobs, delivering important public services for residents of Stoke-on-Trent. Today, Staffordshire Police have announced that they have arrested three more people in connection with this, after a man was arrested last month.

"Any violence against our staff is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

"Our thoughts are with those who were injured and their loved ones, and we would like to praise and thank our crews for doing their jobs and supporting our city."
