A community pub in Stoke-on-Trent has collected over 300 eggs this Easter, all of which will be donated to local charities.
Members of the local community have been donating eggs to The Old Sal, Longton, since February to ensure individuals, families and children across the city have a sweet treat to look forward to this Easter.
The Proper Pubs venue has chosen to donate them to Stoke Social Services, a local charity dedicated to helping those experiencing hardships get back on track.
Landlady, Jo Baker, told Stoke Nub News: "This all started a couple of years ago, we're a community-based pub and we do all sorts of things like our annual Christmas carol concert so this is another thing that we wanted to do.
"We posted on Facebook about what we were doing and customers, neighbours and locals all started donating eggs to us.
"We know a lady who works for the social services so she's going to take them and donate them to vulnerable children."
Matthew Gurney, Operations Director for Proper Pubs, said: "The Old Sal is so much more than just somewhere for people to go for a drink - it is an integral part of the Stoke-on-Trent community and where people come together to support one another.
"It's incredible to see this in action through this initiative and even better to be able to provide a little treat to those who might otherwise go without."
