Staffordshire Police have arrested two people after a man was shot in the leg in Stoke-on-Trent on Wednesday (30 August).
The incident took place on Dawlish Drive, Bucknall, just before 4pm.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was found with injuries at the scene and taken to hospital by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.
He remains in hospital today (1 September) and isn't believed to have any life-threatening injuries.
Since then, police have been speaking to a number of witnesses and looking through CCTV footage from the area to find out more about what happened.
They believe that two suspects approached the victim and immediately fled the scene after he was injured. They may have left the area in a Vauxhall Insignia.
A 26-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, have been arrested in connection with the incident and are being questioned in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Bryan, from CID, said: "Officers are continuing to work through a number of lines of enquiry as part of this investigation – which has understandably caused concern in the local community.
"We would like to reiterate that this was an isolated incident and we do not believe there to be any wider threat to the public at this time."
